  Well, the 1st posted review is very contrary to our experiences. We have rented for a week every summer since 2000- just returned a week ago from our 16th week-long trip. Sure there have been problems over the years- a generator that had to be replaced, a mouse that refused to be trapped, battery issues, and a broken fan belt. The staff has always been wonderful, and quickly responded to make any repairs. Sometimes it does take awhile for them to get to you; it depends on where you are on the lake! At any rate, we are already booked for next year and will keep coming back. It's much less crowded up here than by Ft Spokane, where they also rent houseboats. Well worth the drive from Seattle. By the way, it is incorrectly located on the map. They are located at the Kettle Falls Marina.

  Upon arriving we were a bit rushed but the staff were all very kind and accomodating. After checking into our boat we noticed some wear and tear but nothing out of he ordinary. We picked up on a Thursday and left the dock a few minutes before 5pm. By 730 we noticed the hot tub was not working. We called the marina and tried to troubleshoot it (something I don't feel you should have to do when paying in excess of $1000.00 a day for a vacation) with no luck. They said it was too late to send a mechanic in the repair boat. This created a couple of very sad 13 year olds after all a hot tub on the roof of a boat is the coolest thing in the world at that age. In the morning the staff requested we motor across the river (an hour out of our way) to meet a mechanic that would drive down. We immediately did so and no less than three hours later the mechanic Showed up. He was very kind and tried his best to get it fixed. Even changed out some Parts but to no avail. This took an additional 2+ hours causing us to entirely miss picking up one person in our party (me cell service) no vacation for them. We gave up on that as well as the other minor problems assuming the staff would take care of us at the end of the trip. Upon checking out I mentioned it and they said I did not let them know things were not working properly and they would be providing no recompence. I asked to talk to the mechanic and was refused. I asked to go down and see that the hot tub was on and cold and was refused. I asked to speak with the owner. I simply requested a refund of $400. That is the difference between a hot tub / no hot tub boat. The owner Ed, responded by telling me to shut my mouth and not speak again. He then told all of his staff they were not to speak to us again. They all seemed terrified. He then turned back to me, told me he didn't want Our business again and to get out. Ed was one of the most unprofessional people I have ever talked to. It was an absolute shock as a respectful 33 year old to Spoken to that way. If this company makes it much longer with this kind of unprofessional behavior it will be a shock. Was a great vacation all trouble aside but I would sooner sit in a cardboard box (at least it wouldn't breakdown) alone for a weekend than rent from this company again. There are multiple locations on the lake to rent from that are closer to the highway and have fantastic customer service. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from Lake Roosevelt vacations.

  Our group of 12 just got back from a 4-day vacation in Kettle Falls and stayed on a 62-foot houseboat from Lake Roosevelt Vacations. To say the houseboat rental was a disappointment is an understatement. Our first boat blew a head gasket on the second day. The company dispatched someone to check on us -- which took three hours. The kid had no training, no tools, and no ability to help us. The steering wheel on the upper deck was leaking hydraulic fluid onto the ground. One of the bathroom toilets actually came loose from the floor and was leaking septic fluid onto the floor. Then they sent a mechanic out and it took another four hours to "fix" the boat. He repaired the head gasket and the toilet, but not the hydraulic fluid leak. Once we were back on the water and moving, we were determined to have a good time and not worry about the time we'd lost waiting for repairs. The next morning, the head gasket blew again. (Yes, really.) The company took all day to send us another houseboat -- we called them at 10 am and got a new boat at 3:00 pm. By that night, the generator on the new boat started sputtering and eventually stopped working. Oh -- and one of the bedrooms filled up with a gas smell that was so bad, my husband, daughter and I ended up with headaches and felt sick. We had to sleep on the living room floor. When we got back to the marina the following day...the end of our vacation...the staff, which was very friendly when we arrived, was unfriendly and some of them wouldn't even talk to us. We couldn't get out of there soon enough. The company "kindly" refunded us less than half of our trip costs -- read the fine print on the contract...if your boat breaks down, it's not their problem. Avoid this company and rent from somewhere else!
